  • Job Title: Registered Nurse

  • Vacancy type: Temporary, 3 months, with ongoing agency shifts

  • Shifts: Monday to Friday

  • Pay rates: Earn up to R 250.35* per hour

  • Transport: Own transport required; reimbursement per kilometre

  • Location: Villiersdorp (view map) 

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Preventative Care: Administer vaccinations, Vitamin A supplements, deworming treatments, and offer family planning services. Conduct cervical screenings and breast exams in community settings.

  • Patient Care: Collect blood samples from bedridden patients when necessary.

  • Basic & Wound Care: Evaluate referrals from hospitals and Primary Health Care, develop nursing care plans, delegate tasks to Community Health Workers, and track patient progress through ongoing follow-ups.

  • HIV Testing: Provide HIV testing as required.

  • Health Campaign Assistance: Support health campaigns, including visiting schools and crèches, and administering various vaccinations. 

Requirements

  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

  • Experience in community-based healthcare.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A passion for enhancing community health.
